Everything Finds Its Way Out, Audrey Kawasaki’s first-ever lithograph on stone, marks a new chapter in her practice, translating her intimate visual language through a medium defined by process, patience, and nuance.

Known for her delicate, painterly approach and influences rooted in Japanese manga aesthetics, Kawasaki brings her signature sensibility into lithography with a quiet openness, embracing the subtle shifts, textures, and unpredictability inherent to the medium. Rather than resisting these qualities, the work allows them to surface, adding a rawness and depth that sit just beneath its refined exterior.

In Everything Finds Its Way Out, nothing is explicitly stated, yet everything seems to emerge, gently and inevitably. The image holds that tension between control and release, where the process itself becomes part of the story.

Audrey Kawasaki

Audrey Kawasaki is a Japanese-American artist, born and raised in Los Angeles. Kawasaki grew up reading Japanese manga comics, which inspired her to draw from an early age. She started taking after-school fine art classes at Mission Renaissance in her late teenage years. There she learned the basic foundation of drawing and painting. After graduating high school Kawasaki attended Pratt Institute in New York but left after two years without completing the degree. Since 2005 her work has been on an upward trajectory, professionally showing at various art galleries in the US and internationally.

Kawasaki’s work contains contrasting themes of innocence and eroticism, conveying the mysterious intrigue of feminine sensuality. The artist’s creative influences include Eastern as well as Western traditions such as Art Nouveau and Japanese Manga comics. She paints sultry, seductive, and uninhibited female subjects with delicate beauty and provocative, direct eye contact. Their graceful gestures and ghost-like features carry mysterious expressions of melancholy and longing.
