Three years since the Marilyn screenprint was released and sold out via PicturesOnWalls, French artist is releasing a reinvented version of the image based on one of the iconic pop art portraits.

Like the screenprint from 2012, the new lithograph is based on the legendary image of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol. This time, Tilt’s image is worn out, weathered and aged, giving the raw, street feel to the whole piece. Also, the more authentic feel of the image is further emphasized by the title “Norma Jeane” which is less popular, real name of one of the most popular actress of all time.

This lithograph is continuing Print Them All’s series of limited editions as part of the upcoming “Main Street” exhibition at Mohammed VI Museum in Rabat (Morocco) curated by Print Them All.

ABOUTTHEARTIST

Tilt, a reference of the French urban movement, likes to introduce himself with dripping slogans all around the world. Down from his classical graffiti style, Tilt invades walls and cities in order to leave some of his mythical bubbles permeated with pop and cultural references.

His art does not take the concrete as a limit, therefore Tilt decorates as well hotel rooms, as ramps, galleries and feminine bodies. Colourful and plumb, his alphabet multiplies itself ad infinitum in order to take the shape of a Marylin, of a donut, or of high heels. Giant formats and huge walls, nothing can stop this flag fanatic, who integrates the colours of the country he visits in his bubbles during every one of his journeys.
