A decade after the passing of John “JP” Thompson, Print Them All and King Saladeen are proud to announce the release of “Diamond in the Rough” – a 4-colour with black diamond dust screen print that pays homage to the world-renowned artist’s best friend.

The story of JP the MoneyBear was inspired by John who passed away from terminal brain cancer in November 2013. John was King Saladeen’s number one motivator to take his passion for art and build a legacy that will surpass the lifetime of the artist. The character is a piece of King Saladeen’s life and he hopes that it will motivate others to push the boundaries and status quo to be successful in their passions.

JP the MoneyBear is a representation of greatness.
“Diamond in the Rough” is an ode to JP, the battery in Saladeen’s back on the journey to self-belief. The dark tones with the fine diamond dust symbolises that struggle can breed success and even through the dark the light will continue to shine through.

His work spans from murals, fine art and to vinyl toys, apparel, and custom-painted luxury cars. Today, he is most notably recognized for his iconic “Money Bear.” His artworks have been both nationally and internationally exhibited and began to attract the attention of the art world in 2013 and by 2014 he had his first solo shows in LA and Miami.

Since then he has worked beside some of today’s most iconic contemporary artists including Ron English, Futura, Mad Steez, Seventh Letter, Rob Prior, Mr. Brainwash, and many more. His work has been exhibited at the NYSE, the Philadelphia International Airport, São Paulo Museum of Art, ComplexCon, Shenzhen Toyz Festival, and more. As one of today’s most sought-after contemporary artists, he’s had the opportunity to partner with some of the biggest and most iconic brands around. His partnerships range from collaborating with the MLB, NBA, and NFL to Neiman Marcus, Mercedes, and Netflix – among many others. He is also an avid philanthropist and spends a great deal of time giving back to the community that helped raise him. Saladeen openly credits his success as an artist to his late best friend, JP, who pushed him to pursue his passion and insisted that with teamwork, a little bit of faith, and the support of your family, anything is possible.
